Built in 1889 at Queen Street West and Dovercourt Road, The Great Hall in Toronto originally opened as the West End YMCA. Over the decades, it transformed from a community gym—where famed Indigenous runner Tom Longboat trained—into a temperance hall, union headquarters, and a 2016-restored cultural event space.
Our studio space is located in Longboat Hall, named for the Indigenous runner who trained there, Tom Longboat. The former home of The Theatre Centre, in this black-box style space, workshops and studio categories will be hosted.
