Who is Future Stage for?
Artists ages 10 and up who are passionate about performing at a professional level and are looking for a new, prestigious opportunity to gain experience, build community and learn from artists currently working in Canadian entertainment.
What will I take away from my day with Future Stage?
A full day of experience, both as a performer and auditor- your day at Future Stage will include new friends, connections and insight into our industry, a recognition medal or pin of participation in your day, and an awards ceremony. Most importantly, we are very proud to be able to provide a high quality video of each mainstage performance available for download through our production partner, Dancebug. This video is included in your registration package and is an incredible tool for both social media and as a sample for casting directors and agents.
I’m in! What should I register for to get the most out of my day?
There is no minimum or maximum in our registration process, but to best gain a rounded and fulfilling day, we recommend registering in 2 mainstage competition categories and at least one workshop.
Where can we park?
Two GreenP Parking lots are available one short block away on Ossington Ave, and Lisgar St. near Sudbury. There is also public visitor parking available behind 55 Lisgar St.
Will there be food and drinks?
We will have complimentary filtered water for all competitors. The vibrant Queen west neighborhood has a range of affordable and healthy options (both sit down and take out) within a 2 block radius.
How many people can I bring to see me perform?
We are thrilled to host your support squad, be it 1 or 20. With your registration package, two wristbands for spectators will be included. All kids under 12 are free and do not require a wristband. Wristbands will be available for any additional family or friends at the door for $15- CASH ONLY. Please note there is no time limit and your guests are welcome to cheer on our mainstage performers all day, but the downstairs studio space workshops are not open to the public.
I have accessibility limitations. Are you able to accommodate me?
Our studio space is fully accessible via elevator, and all workshops and studio categories are unrestricted access. Unfortunately, our main stage area is only accessible via 3 stairs. We do aim to be fully accessible by our 2028 season. Should you have other accessibility/sensory questions or concerns, please contact us directly at [email protected].
I’m not ready to compete, but I want to attend some workshops- is this possible?
Yes! We are happy to accommodate artists who are not yet ready to tread our mainstage boards. Simply follow the registration link and select “workshops”. You will also need to purchase a spectator wristband at the door.
What is the registration process?
We are thrilled to be partnered with Dancebug, the top competition production service in Canada. By clicking the “Registration” box, you will be asked to create a secure account- you can then select the categories and workshops you wish to participate in. This account is also how you will access and download your performance footage after the event. Once your registration and payment processing is complete, you will receive a confirmation email.
